I got over to the assembly warehouse today to help
out a bit with the
boat-building. They definitely don’t need my help, but it’s always
impressive to see how they work together. They are all kayakers, and they
all care about every boat that comes through our doors. The new seats
and
brackets arrived today, enabling Jackson Kayak to start building 2006
kayaks
with BOAT ARMOR outfitting. These parts look awesome! It was worth the
wait to get these things. Now they are working on getting eveyr seat and
support bracket trimmed by hand for each different boat model. Each seat
will be cut and smoothed-out to match the contour of whichever hull it
sits
against to give the maximum support possible over the entire width of
the
seat. Tom told me that the seat he was working-on is for a regular-sized
Fun. See the pic of him working on it. Once they work-out patterns for
each seat (3 sizes of seats for 12 boat models), they can simply trace,
cut,
smooth, and fly through them.

The first 2006 kayaks should ship today or tomorrow,
which will be awesome. Everyone here will be working on Saturday and all
next week before Christmas to get as many boats out of our plant and into
our dealer’s stores as possible. Check-out the photo of our ware house
full of boat that have been trimmed, and mostly built-out: just waiting
for these new parts! They are almost all pre-sold to our dealers. Enjoy!
