On April 21st local shop Shasta Base Camp hosted a race down Box Canyon of the Sacramento, and we had a great showing of paddlers brave enough to face low flows and rainy weather. Some of the more competitive paddlers ran the box the day before and the morning prior to the race, getting their race lines dialed in, while I was more focused on getting on runs with more water in them. On race day I was stoked to be paddling with friends, and to my surprise ended up taking third place. I didn?t know the race lines, and I fell back during the rapids, but was able to make up time in the flat stretches with the speed of the Rocker. I have been loving this boat more and more each time I paddle it ? Darin

This random shot of me from last week is also a self-portrait, took some work to get the timing right!
