The CSM Kayak Club just wrapped up one of its best events in the club’s history. The event started out with a movie premier of Hotel Charley 2: River of Doubt from ClearH20Films and Jackson Kayaks on the night of Friday the 13th. While the movie premier is always a good time with 2 kegs of beer in a lecture hall (provided by New Belgium Brewery and MountainBuzz this year) and some decent kayaking footage to be shown, this year was by far the best, a direct result of the sick movie we had to show. Coombs and Stookesberry really nailed it with this one. River of Doubt is one of the most amazing paddling films I have seen with some of sweetest hard core paddling all taking place in the setting of committing V+ expedition paddling. This is not a film to miss. Tons of prizes and swag were given away at the show and throughout the weekend. University teams from across the state and country made a great showing in the slalom, rodeo, boatercross, and kayak polo events of the weekend. The event was concluded with the presentation of a Riot Kayak donated by Golden River Sports and Mountainbuzz.com to the University of Wyoming, the team with the winning cumulative score from all the events of the week. It was an awesome event!
