Another few days mean more clinics and river trips. I managed to get on the water with Falling Creek on the Upper Green, by far my favorite instructional river of all. As with everything around here, water is at a premium so when we heard that the Green was at 100, we jumped at the chance, got on the river with 2 mins to spare before the river was tuned off, and busted down it as fast as possible. The campers did really well, even with an OC1 in the mix.

Today I got to Camp Carolina in Brevard, met up with JJ and Ben who run the whitewater programs there and headed straight to the river with their advanced kids on section 9 of the French. Yet another great trip with the kids doing awesome, one kid CJ in a JK one and a half really boated like a champ. I can’t believe that only a few years ago kids had to make do with super large boats that they flopped around in because it didn’t fit ’em. How times have changed. Rivers are being more and more accessible to kids and why not. Anyway, the guys at Carolina really have a great yacking program and love their JK boats.

A quick trip into Asheville and met up with the folks at Diamond Brand Outfitters. Seems as though the ‘fun’ never stops at this place, check out the front sign. Sweet! Anyway after a quick chat with James from Diamond Brand it seems that the kids boats are really popular so I’ll be doing a kids clinic for the store in within the month. Stay tuned for this.

On the road with the JK Camp Instructional Tour.
