The Super Heros arrive in Brazil! 9 days after me, the lost luggage (2 Super Heros) have arrived in Brasilia Brazil. I drove 8.5 hours back to Brasilia to pick them up and leave in 2 hours for an 11 hour bus ride to return to the team in Dianopolous with the Super Heros. We have 15 more days and unknown adventures for these boats and the team.
So far the level of activity and effort put forth in Brazil has been tremendous. We have been on a strong pace of driving in northern Brazil in search of first descents. We have found many amazing waterfalls, a few of which have been runnable. But it has not been without hurdles. Our principal cinemotgrapher, Ryan MacPherson has been sick for 5 days, with what I am concerned may be Dengue Fever, and was admitted to the hospital today.
I have spent the first 8 days of my trip without my kayaks and gear. Thank goodness I packed my camping gear in my carry on baggage.
We scouted and (I can´t believe I am saying this) contemplated the line in a 43 meter waterfall. We measured it with a climbing rope which affirmed a previous measurement. If the falls would have had enough water, I honestly believe that Pedro would have ran it. We have set the record on this trip for the highest waterfall ran in Brazil, and have many more drops to explore.
For the last 8 days we had the participation of the producer Rally Australia, and the high definition images captured are truly first rate.
