The past few months has seen on and off lockdowns here in Ireland with various degrees of travel restrictions. With this our normal winter paddling routine has changed with more days spent at our local freestyle spot in Tuam. We have been super lucky to have this spot close to home to keep us active and on the water.

Tuam has a reputation as one of the coldest playspots in the country so you better come prepared rain or shine. Skull caps, mitts & pogies are a must in the depths of winter. Once you are kitted out properly you can make the most of the winter water.

Despite the cold it has been a great winter so far with consistent levels throughout. Here’s hoping for some warmer days with spring right around the corner.
