Super Hero Creeking on South Santiam

I had an awesome time paddling with Jason Rackley (of oregonkayaking.net fame) on the headwaters of The South Santiam. There is no way I could do the justice to the day that Jason has done with his ability to tell a great story. So click on this link to see a master writer and kayaker do what he does best.

And if you wondered how the Super Hero does on class 5 creeking, this report will answer any and all questions. In the boulder garden Jason describes I had to do some very technical, tight and involved paddling to make the very thin lines. This kind of carving of the river on difficult lines through unforgiving boulders, cross currents and holes was only possible in the Super Hero. Seriously
