Kayaking The Grand Canyon by Will Richardson | Jul 26, 2008 | Heros, Kid's Kayaks, Whitewater | 0 comments By Sage Donnelly It was so cool seeing you on the Grand Canyon. I had a lot of fun and paddled over 144 miles of the 224 that we ran. My Mom was rowing our raft while my Dad and I kayaked. Mom made me get in the raft on the big rapids like Hermit, Lava, and anything over 8 on the Colorado scale because she wanted Dad to row them. I was in the sidekick, but next time I will take my shooting star. I only flipped twice and had one combat roll and one swim, Dad kept knocking my boat over in the rapid when I was trying to roll. Mom and Dad wonder if I am the youngest kid to kayak it. After we got off the Grand Canyon, we did Chilli Bar. It was lots of fun but I flipped in trouble maker. Next time I will not flip. My favorite rapids were Trouble maker and First Threat. Then I kayaked Boca to Floriston on the Truckee with my Mom, Jessica and Tim. She made me walk Jaws because Dad was not there, he is on a fire in California, but next time I will run that rapid. –Sage Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
