EJ's “Brotha from Anotha Motha” writes in from Colorado by Will Richardson | Sep 17, 2008 | 2010 Fun, Whitewater | 0 comments October 17, 2008 Photos Yo brotha from anotha motha, I hope all is well. Have not seen you in some time man. Congratulations on the new family addition. I am writing to you to let you know that I got a hold of my very own baby as well. And no, it’s not a real baby …. I still need to find a date first for that to happen! But that is another story in itself. Anyways, it’s a purple Star! The boat came right as we hit low water in Colorado. My Jackson Star, fresh out of the UPS van was laying out in my front yard besides my 2Fun. I was siting on top of them, one leg in each kayak when I overheard my neighbor yelling out to me, "nice pair of sneakers you got there dude!". He wandered over with a big grin on his face. Being a boater himself and a Jackson aficionado, he went on to comment about my color of choice saying " Looks like you are still stuck in the 90’s man". I looked at him and said "if it’s good for the Fresh prince of play-boating … its good for me baby!". Shaking his head, he sighed "you still think you are the Middle Eastern version of EJ!". I smirked back saying "we are brothers from different mothers man". He shuffled away saying "I sure see the resemblance!" My mind started wandering around trying to figure out how I would pay tribute to the maiden voyage of one of the newest, coolest play boats out there. I turned back to look in my kayak shed and my eyes fixed in on my greenland paddle. It hit me right there. Mixing one of the greatest newest boat designs from Jackson kayak with one of the oldest known kayak paddle designs by Lumpy paddles would make low water and my lack of play-boating skills all but disappear! I grabbed the purple stallion and the "stick" and headed out to grab my buddy Chris and hit the Library hole. Enjoy the pictures. Photos courtesy of Derek Broussard. Thanks again for building such a superb boat. I can finally throw the boat around like my camel back home! Giddyup. -Assad Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
