2010 is Get Your Kids Paddling Year by Jackson Kayak by ericjackson | Feb 3, 2010 | Kid's Kayaks, Whitewater | 1 comment February 3, 2010 One of the best things I have done in my life is to get my kids kayaking, I can say that with full sincerity. The activity of kayaking is wholesome, great exercise, great circle of caring people, and burns off energy that kids need to expend on positive things. Now that my kids are 19 and 16 and finally in adult boats, I had to start over (well, it was Kristine’s idea, but I ran with it). KC is 18 months old and will get his own kayak this spring! By the time he turns 2 years old, he’ll be able to paddle around in flatwater and I am sure that his boat will be his favorite toy. Here are a few photos of kids in kayaks that remind me why we invested hard to come by money into making these boats. Let’s get your kids kayaking this season. Flatwater, moving water, whitewater; it is all good. Here is a Side Kick Video by Dane. Here is a Shooting Star Video by Dane. kind of funny. Jackson Kayak and your local dealer is sponsoring this program with our Side Kick and Shooting Stars available at $499 in the USA, and comparable low prices worldwide. Go visit your local dealer and take advantage of this "Get Your Kids Paddling" special and surprise your little ones! Now paddling to him has been sitting in a daytripper with Mommy and the dog, touring around the lake, but if you can get an 18 month his own boat, I want to know more. Specifically, which boat do you recommend, and where do I find a paddle that will work for him? He’s very keen to do things for himself, but if the gear won’t fit him, he’s not going to stick with it. He’s maybe 40 lbs and about 35 inches tall.
