On the road Part I by sonia | Mar 8, 2011 | Dealer | 0 comments As some of you might know, I am new to Jackson Kayak. I left my Software cubicle job to be a part of one of the most exciting companies I know…. Jackson Kayak. It has been a great learning experience and I love it. Marty is usually on the road by himself for nearly 5 months out of the year, so now he has a copilot and I could not be happier about it. I am now on my fourth trip and feel that our experiences are too grand to not share! We departed Boulder Wednesday 2/23 and stayed with our friends Dave & Casey Lindo from OKC Kayak. The Coosa seems to be catching everyone’s eye around there and those Oklahoma fish, better watch out! We headed to the Illinois River, where we met with several outfitters that call this amazing place their home. The weather was a bit overcast, but better that the 20 feet of snow they received a couple of weeks before. This is a wonderful place to plan a leisure float trip with friends and family. It is beautiful and an amazing place to see Bald Eagles, Blue Herons and maybe a few rat tailsJ. For the weekend, we decided to camp out in Devil’s Den State Park in AR. This park is lovely and has great facilities, super hot showers and beautiful trails to hike and bike. Then we were off to visit with our dealer Lewis & Clark and did some staff training and had a great time. This shop has everything and they love Jackson Kayak (We love em too!) On our way to the Missouri Canoe & Floaters Association show in Springfield MO, we drove though Eureka Springs to get to the Roaring River where we camped out and tried our new dutch oven. We had no idea it was opening day for trout fishing and that place was going bananas! It was cold, but nice and got us into Springfield in no time. The MCFA show was at the Ramada Oasis and was a great success! We were so happy to have some time with these wonderful outfitters and look forward to next year! From Springfield MO, to Ozark Outdoors, we stayed with Bear Bass & Tara and enjoyed the amazing trails. This place is huge with lots to do! We have made our way to Illinois to visit with Paddle & Trail and settled in for a day in Wisconsin, before we meet with Laacke & Joy tomorrow. We will be at the Canoecopia show this weekend in Madison and will be back on the road after that. TTFN Sonia Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
