For Navigational Use Only by JK Team | Mar 1, 2012 | Journey, Recreational/Touring | 5 comments Photo: I LOVE MY JOURNEY! I’ll paddle it almost anywhere in (almost) any conditions, day or night. The photo was taken after the sun fell below the horizon, while paddling in 6-8 foot seas on the Pacific Ocean in Ventura County, CA. Turned on the “nav lights” because I was about to go head-to-head with a dredger in the inlet…and let inbound/outbound craft know which way I was going. Paddling my Journey has always been an adventure for me. Never a dull moment, and especially love paddling when the waves are better than 3 feet. It makes paddling the flat water easy. =) 5 Comments Paul on March 2, 2012 at 12:42 am Awesome Pic and story! Wasn’t sure if the journey was for me. Buying a yak this spring and was leaning toward the journey but had concerns if this yak could handle Lake Superior, as I am getting tired of smaller lakes and want to expand. This pic helps. More Journey Pics and stories please!! Reply Bill on April 8, 2012 at 3:50 am Sorry, guys. Didn’t realize I had responses. Try this for starters, Paul: http://youtu.be/w6stMvo0DYg Reply Eric Jackson on March 3, 2012 at 2:39 pm Awesome photo! Looks like rough water, beautiful weather! Reply Bill on April 8, 2012 at 9:42 am You should see the photo that fills (most of) the frame, EJ. My Journey handled that 10′ wave very well. =) Reply Bill on April 8, 2012 at 4:04 am Although this video ( http://youtu.be/AmeRE2wDoeE ) is a little longer, it shows how well the Journey will handle a thunderstorm gust front. The conditions happened to be just right for the video. The wind was coming, but the lightning was moving to the right and nowhere near the lake. My photos and videos will have quite an improvement this year. Can’t wait… =) Reply Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
