Cudas in the Current by JK Team | May 10, 2012 | Cuda, Fishing | 4 comments A few days ago my dad and I took a trip over to the Chattahoochee River. We weren’t expecting the water to be running as bad as it was. Even though the water was generating and flowing fast the Cuda did amazing! We put the seat in the low position and paddled on through the swift current. The boat was super stable and handled great, it rose up over the swells and boils with no trouble. It didn’t just shoot off with the current like some boats I’ve fished in. We were able to paddle up current really well to get to the calmer spots we wanted to fish . Even though we got what we didn’t expect the trip was still great and I got to really push my Cuda! 4 Comments Nutriarat on May 14, 2012 at 5:22 pm Glad to hear it, I recently purchased a Cuda and intend to take it in some current this summer and was curious how it would handle it. Thanks Reply FERAL ONE on May 16, 2012 at 8:52 pm Nutriarat, i am VERY pleased with how well the Cuda handles the current. it really suprised me. from paddling up and into a flow to crossing it jumping from eddy to eddy. my other yaks would grab the water and snatch downstream. the Cuda has a bit of a tug then rises up and over the flow. it is not as nimble as the Coosa , but for a long boat it holds it’s own very well. Reply Jeff on June 20, 2012 at 3:57 am For rivers that could have class1 or 2 would you feel more comfortable in a cuda or coosa? Reply Drew Gregory on June 21, 2012 at 5:38 pm Hey Jeff, I personally would feel fine in either boat for those situations, but the Coosa is probably going to excel a little more for the average paddler. However, if you have experience paddling and consider yourself a seasoned veteran then the Cuda would work as well. I’d maybe try the Cuda if you are also going to fish lakes or ocean because then you have a boat that excels in those situations too. Hope this helped!
