Colorado Kayaking by hunter katich | Jul 17, 2012 | JK Team Posts, Whitewater | 7 comments This summer keeps getting better! I recently returned from a trip to the beautiful Colorado Rockies, a kayaker’s dream vacation. The area has some amazing rivers and play spots! Most of my kayak time was spent at the Gunnison Whitewater Park. This incredible area is man-made rapid on the Gunnison River and provided a great play hole for practicing and perfecting my whitewater moves. Special thanks to the Lee family for a great trip! Reply Greg on July 18, 2012 at 8:59 pm Nice boating. What level is that at? Thanks. Reply hunter katich on July 19, 2012 at 12:58 am I’m not sure Greg. I just know it was really low flow. wish i could help more Reply MichaelStoner on July 19, 2012 at 5:37 pm Lol. It was between 2 and 3 hundred cfs. The town put in some concrete and I and and a bunch of others put some rocks in by hand to help the hole out. It’s kinda cool to have a decent hole at that level. Reply Jenn on July 19, 2012 at 5:29 pm Im a Gunni local and the water has been staying at around 350 cfs. Reply Tracy on August 1, 2012 at 8:38 pm Do you think this footage was taken at 350 cfs or lower? Looks like more water then that.
