King in a Big Tuna by JK Fans | Aug 16, 2012 | Big Tuna, Fishing | 1 comment Having always watched with curiosity and envy as kayaks leave the beach and head into the Gulf of Mexico, I took the plunge. Plenty of research into kayaks lead me to Jackson. My brother and I each purchased Big Tunas. On our first trip out in the Tunas targeting king mackerel, (my first into the ocean in a kayak of any kind) we had success. We were two miles out in our Tunas. We met some wind and chop and the kayaks were fantastic. They were incredibly stable, plenty of fishing room and really comfortable. After the Big Tuna’s excellent performance, and striking looks (urban camo scheme), my loyalty is established…I won’t ever be caught peddling. Thanks you Jackson! I look forward to all the memories I am sure to make in my Big Tuna. Great fishing, plenty stable with lots of room. We were right at the two mile mark and had a great time. Next for me will be the New River in Virginia looking for those hard hitting Smallies.
