Nantahala Cascades Video by Boyd Ruppelt | Nov 7, 2012 | Whitewater | 0 comments The Nantahala Cascades has been one of those overlooked, roadside gems that most people don’t really think about. They’re short, steep, and leave the seasoned creeker wanting more, but they’re a great training ground and loads of fun with good water. Even though they run fairly often, they can be tough to catch with good water because they don’t last long. So until recently, many paddlers had not had the opportunity to experience the cascades at full flow. American Whitewater came through for us again, truly turning NOC’s Guest Appreciation Festival into a revived kind of Whitewater Fest with whitewater for everyone of all skill levels through the first public release of the Upper Nantahala and Cascades.
