One Fish, Many GoPros: Episode 1: “Jump” by Drew Gregory | Nov 9, 2012 | Featured Post, Fishing, Freshwater Fishing, Video, Video | 6 comments Making videos is actually one of the things I am most passionate about. Not just fishing and being “in” the video, actually producing it in every aspect including filming it, editing it, being the director, on-camera angler etc. GoPro cameras make it so easy to do these days and I want to encourage others and show them how they can do the same thing with just a camera or two and a little time to edit and tell the story afterwards. So, I plan to post at least one of these new “One Fish, Many GoPros” a month from now through 2013. Some may be longer, like this first one, but most will be around 1-2 minutes of action packed kayak fishing excitement. I hope you enjoy this first episode! Reply Burt Marshall on November 14, 2012 at 6:32 am Drew, how many GoPros are you using at one time? Did you buy them or are they sponsoring you and providing the cameras? Reply Brooks Beatty on November 15, 2012 at 9:11 pm Hey Burt, I fish a lot with Drew and feel pretty certain I can answer this question for you. Drew fishes with at least 2 Go Pros, one up front facing back, and one on a pole behind him. Sometimes he will suction one to the side of his kayak for a different water level angle (make sure to tether any that use a suction cup just in case you hit something). I’ve even seen him with 4 cameras before. This set up is pretty intense but provides tons of great footage. He uses a 3D mount suctioned at the front, which houses 2 cameras. He will use one to shoot video and one to take pictures (you will have to change the setting for shooting one upside down because of how the 3D mount is). Then he uses the other 2 angles, the water level and the one behind on a pole. Also, Drew works for his Go Pros, he provides Go Pro with content and is a spokesperson for Go Pro in the kayak community, and in return he gets the cameras he needs to work with. Hope this helps.
