Big Red’s in Merrritt Island Florida by Steve Gibson | Feb 24, 2013 | Big Tuna, Cuda, Fishing, Fishing Reports, Saltwater Fishing | 1 comment Decided to start the year off with a fishing trip over to the east coast. Met up with a friend of mine that was in town from Washington State. We left at 2am and made it to the launch location just before sunrise. The fishing started off really slow with artificial baits, only catching a few small Trout. We pressed on and made it to the location that we wanted spend some time fishing at. We made to switch to cut bait and the fish turned on!. We caught and released Redfish for the next couple hrs. Most of the reds were upper slot with a few big Donkeys to 43″. Waking up at 2am to make this trip happen was well worth it. looking forward to the next one. 1 Comment Alan Ryland on February 24, 2013 at 9:18 pm Nicely done Steve !!!
