Boondoggle ! by Steve Gibson | Feb 27, 2013 | Big Tuna, Cuda, Fishing, Saltwater, Saltwater Fishing | 2 comments My son and I hit the road Saturday morning to head over to Merritt Island Florida to attend the Boondoggle. We arrived early and set up camp and then walked around a bit to meet some new faces. It was great to put FaceBook names with faces. Shortly after we hit the water to try some fishing but the weather wasn’t cooperating. We didn’t last 30 min before turning back around and heading in. All was not lost because for me this event was more about spending time with my boy and meeting new people. I want to give a big thank you to fellow Jackson Fishing Team member Chuck Levi and Yakangler.com for putting this event together. My son and I had a great time. 2 Comments shawn on March 13, 2013 at 7:29 pm what rack are you using for your bug tuna? i like it! Also what width bars are you running? im looking for racks for my big tuna. it looks like the yakima showboat? Reply Steve Gibson on April 24, 2013 at 12:48 pm Hey Shawn, I am using the Yakima show boat. Well worth the xtra expense. You will have to get an xtra set of the longest bars for the showboat. Cant remember what size exactly. I bought 4 of the longest ones they made. Then cut the top bars to best fit my car. Could have got 2 boats on top with the bars before I cut them but I was hitting my head on them when getting in the car. Don’t cut the bars you use with the showboat. You will need the xtra length to extend past the rear of the car. Reply Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
