Norther Winters and Kayak Polo by saskiavanmourik | Feb 11, 2013 | Whitewater | 0 comments Happy New Year! Bring it on 2013! As I write this post it is -35 C; or -31 F for those in the USA. Things are well though, we have not hung up our paddles. We’ve moved into kayak polo season at the pool. The early part of our winter brought the Somba Ke Paddling Club from Yellowknife, NT. down to Fort Smith for some kayak polo fun and games. Dale O’Brian from Edmonton Whitewater Paddlers was up to run a kayak polo skills clinic. It was great to see Dale again. Thanks Fort Smith Paddling Club for organizing this event. We’ve been maintaining our skills this winter with the weekly polo sessions. These will go until May and hopefully by then we will be looking at the Slave River opening up for us. Apart from that it’s waiting for summer, tons of skiing and hopefully some ice climbing if the weather warms up any! Below are some photos from our kayak polo weekend. We had 10 Yellowknife people staying at our house…crazy fun! Thanks guys for a great weekend. Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
