Excited for joining the JK Team!- Mikel Sarasola

I am excited to announce that I am joining the JK team! It is a pleasure to be part of such an awesome brand. This company has been pushing our sport to the limits since it was born, with a great family developing new amazing products like no other company has ever done, till becoming the biggest company in the market. I love exploring, training, racing and enjoying the rivers in all different ways and I couldn’t imagine better boats for it than the JK ones. Can’t wait to get to the water with my new Karma!!

I started kayaking when I was 11 years old in my hometown, San Sebastian (Basque Country). It was an unknown sport for me and my family, and I got into it by chance. I learned how to roll in my first kayaking week, and few weeks later I went to a river that was flooded and I capsized… but I rolled!! From that time I knew that I was going to do it forever. Surfing waves, running rivers in beautiful landscapes, adventuring and sharing it all with friends, it was something that made me happy when I was a small kid and is still making me feel like the luckiest man on earth.

Since I started kayaking I tried to enjoy this sport in all its ways. I have done a lot of slalom racing, kayak-surfing and some freestyling, but now I’m more focused on creeking and adventuring. Running big rapids in exotic countries makes me feel like when I was a kid and I was first time in the river.

Nowadays kayaking is part of me and wherever that I go my boat comes with me!
