VIDEO:Fishing for zander (walleye) from kayak by Jan Liska | Jan 27, 2014 | Big Tuna, Fishing, Fishing Reports, Freshwater Fishing, UK | 0 comments This is what we do here in autumn and winter… We fish for zander, a mysterious predator, very similar to the american walleye. Fishing for zanders is tough, they feed only at certain times and they are very picky. Colour, size and presentation of the bait always have to be just right. They hang out in spots that are not so easy to find and much harder to fish. We fish with small softbaits, finesse jigging in deep water. You can check out my earlier article, which deals with this. Fishing from a kayak allows us to find the zanders and effectively present the softbaits in deep water. I think that thanks to my kayak I have saved enough lures from snags to buy a new one :D. Here is a video that I put together from a nice trip with my friends from the Czech JK team. Enjoy!
