The second leg of the Maine Whitewater Chamionships took place here in northern Maine last month and went off without a hitch! http://www.mainewwc.com/results/2014-results/

We finally had some bigger water up here to challenge us but experienced less of a competitor turnout. The race is a timed event through Gorge/Crib and a boater cross through Big Aberjackamockamus rapids.

With awesome summer weather and great company everyone really pushed hard to paddle fast in the timed event, a class IV, III and V section of river. Turning out some fast times was the theme of the day and every racer did very well.

The boater cross was even more fun when you are surrounded by your friends trying to beat them to the finish. They pass you then you pass them, what a great race day.

Thanks to Taylor Walker and the solid safety crew for putting on a great event.

I can’t wait for this race next year!
