Last adventure for 2016 by William Pfingst | Jan 19, 2017 | Fishing, Kraken | 0 comments Started the year off right with my personal best striped bass at 37 inches. Didn’t come close to breaking that but had a great time trying while chasing line sides. Was introduced to a new fishery over the winter holiday season and fell in love with it. There are so many possible places to fish it’s almost overwhelming. Three of use went out and all got over nice size keeper fish (California slot limit is 18 inches). The water Temps were in the mid 40’s. The wind was not an issue till the end of the day. Fish were caught on chartreuse paddle tail swim baits. The biggest of the trip was caught on a line through, 3 ounce savage gear trout swimbait, on the outgoing tide. Lost two other fish to either foul hook or not properly setting the hook.
