JK Generosity in The Bay Of Fundy by Christopher Audet | Oct 5, 2017 | Karma RG, Karma Rock Garden, Recreational/Touring, Trip Reports, Trips | 0 comments Last week I had the pleasure of returning as an instructor for the 4th Bay Of Fundy Sea Kayak Symposium. I count myself as incredibly lucky to be one of the few instructors that have been able to work all 4 of these amazing events. This year I was supported by the fine folks at Jackson Kayak in the symposiums drive to do something positive for the province of Nova Scotia where this event is held. Every year the symposium is tied to a charitable effort and this year the goal was to raise money for the Nova Scotia Nature Trust. The Nova Scotia Nature Trust focuses on purchasing wild lands in the province to assure they remain wild and pristine. They also manage current lands to the same end. Since I adore Nova Scotia and all that the Bay of Fundy has to offer for kayakers I was honored to be able to represent Jackson Kayak by donating a Custom colored Karma RG to an auction that raised money for the Nature Trust. On the final day of the event we held a live auction that had enthusiastic bidding that Resulted in Paul Maxon from Prince Edward Island and a member of Team Core being the lucky winning bidder for this awesome kayak. I would like to thank Paul for his purchase as it raised $1,200 for the Nature Trust! This auction when added to the other various raffles and silent auction items brought the total amount raised to over $8,000. Proof positive as to how kayakers and kayak companies can truly make a difference in preserving the natural wonders we hold dear. I would like to Thank Christopher Lockeyer and the whole Committed to The Core Team for putting on a world class event for sea kayakers. I would also like to thank the amazing folks at Jackson Kayak for letting me be a small part of their family and showing unmatched generosity in their support of paddlers and the places we paddle. I am already getting stoked for the Next Bay Of Fundy Sea Kayak Symposium in September of 2019. If you are someone looking to improve your skills in conditions ranging from flat water to big rowdy tide races this is the place to do it. Amazing venue, friendly folks and incredible food make this a must go event. And who knows you might even return home with a brand new Jackson Karma RG…….
