Day Tripping on Summersville Lake in West Virginia by Will Richardson | Sep 2, 2007 | Uncategorized | 0 comments October 2, 2007 I have been on a road trip for the past couple weeks seeing Jackson Rec dealers in the mid Atlantic region. For the past two days I have been in West Virginia and been enjoying all the beauty of Summerville Lake. We have experienced the most beautiful weather and paddling conditions anyone could hope for. The temperature has been roughly 70 degrees and the water conditions perfect. There hasn’t been a cloud in the sky and the fog on the water early morning is just awesome! What a great place to get the Day Trippers out and on the water for some fishing and sight seeing. As you can see in these photo’s of Jason here, there are some fantastic rock formations that shoot right up from the water. What I learned today about the Day Trippers was how great they are to simply relax in. I paddle a ton, and you would think I might have spent more time doing just that (relaxing) while in the Day Tripper 10 or 12. But honestly, most of the time, I am out for an exercise paddle, on photo shoots, or for whatever reason…just not fully relaxing. Not this time… today was simply for me and my buddy Jason to be out on the water to relax and enjoy being outside. The Day Trippers provide the best way to do just that… enjoying the peace and quite that can only be found in the middle of a gorgeous lake. Yes, we got a bit of fishing in, but mostly we just got a chance to refresh the body and mind. Working for EJ and Kristine Jackson is one of the most rewarding jobs you can ever imagine. And the Day Trippers are a perfect example of what Jackson Rec is all about. Great kayaks, super comfortable outfitting, and an easy way to enjoy fun on the water. I hope you all find this inspiring to get out and paddle. Kayaking is one of those activities that can really refresh the soul and make the next day sitting in traffic just a bit more bareable… Get out and paddle!
