Villain-VillainS Auction for Jason Craig now live! by Lee Hart | Apr 15, 2011 | Whitewater | 18 comments Jackson Kayak has teamed up with California Canoe & Kayak in California (Keith Miller) to help with Jason Craig’s recovery by donating a new demo Villain or Villain S of your choice to be auctioned off right here on the JK website starting right now! This boat is new and includes the usual JK warranty. Rich and Mike at Snapdragon Designs are donating a sprayskirt to complete the package! Jackson Kayak and Snapdragon are two of Jason’s kayak sponsors and California Canoe & Kayak is a local premier JK dealer. To read more about Jason’s accident check out this link: http://www.rgj.com/article/20110328/NEWS/110328041/Reno-teen-kayaker-Jason-Craig-recovering-from-injury?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CFRONTPAGE Details on the contest: The boat is available for pickup from any CC&K store (Oakland or Rancho Cordova, Calif). If you need the boat shipped Keith will cover the first $100 with you paying the balance. If you are interested in a Fun or Star instead call Keith and he might be able to substitute for the Villain if you win the bidding. CC&K website with all the numbers, etc: http://www.calkayak.com/ Sanpdragon website: http://snapdragondesign.com/ To bid just add a comment below with your bid price and the highest bidder will win the boat. Scroll down to see what the current high bid is. Minimum bid is $400. Easy. Payment will be made directly to CC&K in the form of a check at the time of the pickup (no CC’s please–we want all the money to go to Jason) Please remember that the object of the auction is to help Jason out by raising the most money possible. I am hoping the boat sells for more than the retail price so bid high and bid often and keep it going! Please re-post and get the word out. The contest will run for ten days only and end on Sunday April 17th at noon Pacific time (that’s 3 p.m. on the East Coast) Thank you Jackson Kayak, California Canoe & Kayak, and Snapdragon for your generosity and kind hearts helping out this wonderful kayak ambassador while he is down and thanks to all of you bidders! Good luck! 18 Comments Geoff Jennings on April 8, 2011 at 9:23 pm $450 Reply Brent jarvis on April 8, 2011 at 9:52 pm 600$ Reply ilona karow on April 8, 2011 at 11:32 pm $500. Reply TImothy Fleming on April 8, 2011 at 11:42 pm $800 Reply TImothy Fleming on April 9, 2011 at 12:22 am I live in TN about an hour and a half from the JK factory. If i was to get the winning bid anyway i could pick the boat up in Sparta? It would certainly effect my bidding if i didnt have to pay shipping. Thanx Alot, Timothy P.S. You Peoples get ya bid on for this guy Reply hilde on April 9, 2011 at 1:34 am Tim- The boat is physically in California at CCK. Keith has offered to cover up to $100 if it needs to be shipped anywhere. Thanks for your positive thoughts and hopefully the extra money for shipping won’t factor in too terribly much! hilde Reply Keith Miller on April 9, 2011 at 2:00 am Thanks Hilde and thanks Tim for the bid! I am sure Jackson and CCK will figure out a way to make it work so if you are the winning bid you can pick it up at the factory. Keep it on for Jason!!! – Keith Reply Toby Ebens on April 10, 2011 at 5:21 pm $850 …. Bring it on bidders! Reply Ingrid Gennity on April 11, 2011 at 7:38 pm $900 … Hang in there Jason, best wishes for your recovery. Reply Tony L on April 11, 2011 at 10:31 pm $2,000… and the boat goes to the second highest bidder. Reply hilde on April 11, 2011 at 11:51 pm Tony You are one of the most generous people on the planet. He also happens to be partners of one of the greatest kayak companies on the planet; JACKSON KAYAK!!! Thank you so much-and for clarification-the bidding is at 900$ so keep on bidding-you can still be “second highest bidder” Reply James McBeath on April 12, 2011 at 2:52 am Awesome Tony! Reply TImothy Fleming on April 12, 2011 at 4:05 am $1,100 Reply Carol L on April 12, 2011 at 8:19 am Boaters are truly awesome people! Both Tony and Tim – y’all rock. Bid high and Bid often. Reply hilde on April 13, 2011 at 11:56 pm Just to be clear on the bidding since I have received a couple questions since Tony upped the bid level substantially! The boat and sprayskirt are still up for auction. The current bid is $1100 from Timothy. You can still bid higher and win the boat. Tony is giving his bid of $2000 to Jason no matter what and the person who comes in with the next highest bid is the winner of the boat once you pay that bid to CCK to be given to Jason also. Clearer now? This is a good deal but what makes it a better deal no matter what the winning bid comes out is the fact that the money is going to one of the nicest, most talented kayaking guys out there. Let’s keep it going for Jason; please show your support through your bids and if you don’t need a new boat and skirt please go to his Recovery Fund Page on Facebook and donate what you can-$1 minimum on that and we all can spare a buck! The Craig family thanks you from the bottom of their hearts! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jason-Craig-Recovery-Fund/202672366427897 Reply hilde on April 15, 2011 at 10:41 pm OK we seem to be stuck at $1100. I hope this doesn’t turn out to be a last minute Ebay style auction. Let’s review what you are bidding on: A NEW JK Villain or Villain of your choice (Value $1200) A NEW Snapdragon Whitewater EXP Armortex Reinforced Spray Skirt w/Implosion Bar (value $200) total is $1400 Not factored in is the benefit to our buddy Jason Craig who faces at least a year rehab to get back on track. Please find it in your heart to bid on this package; if you plan to get a boat this year it is kind of a no-brainer! thank you hilde Reply hilde on April 17, 2011 at 9:33 pm OK Thanks all you bidders–it looks like the winner is Timothy Fleming for $1100. Timothy: Please get in touch with Keith at CCK to get an address on where to send the check. He will also coordinate with JK if you decide to pick up the boat there instead of having it shipped. You can also contact Mike or Rich at Snapdragon to claim your skirt. I will contact both of these companies and cc JK to let them know to expect your call. Thank you so much and enjoy your new boat and sprayskirt! Big props to Jackson Kayak, California Canoe and Kayak and Snapdragon for all of the items! Keep it on for Jason!!! hilde Reply TImothy Fleming on April 18, 2011 at 12:28 am Thanks Hilde! Im sure i will…I left Keith a message today.
