Currents – Episode 12 – Turrialba, Costa Rica by Mike McKay | Apr 17, 2011 | Whitewater | 0 comments In the mid 90s Turrialba was a global destination for the best kayakers in the world. After the damming of the Reventazon River this destination lost many of it’s major tourism. Over the past 10 years the Pacuare River has become the major river for whitewater travelers in Costa Rica. However, now this river is facing the same fate as the Reventazon. This episode of Currents explores the people of the community and how the river is such an important aspect to their lives.
