Ryan Whetung sends in his first update after getting his new All-Star by Will Richardson | May 5, 2008 | Kid's Kayaks, Whitewater | 0 comments Hello, I flew out to British Columbia in April to kick off the season at Skookumchuck… It was awesome, as usual, but clouds and evening tides didn’t allow for great photos as light wasn’t very good. But luckily the wave was good! I borrowed an All-Star from Sea to Sky Kayaks (Jackson Dealer in Vancouver)… so thanks very much to Don and Paula Jamieson! I flew back to Ottawa to travel to team trials in Chambly, Quebec. I borrowed an All-Star from Sharky so thanks to him! The All-Star was great on this wave and made for the best experience I’ve ever had on the Chambly wave. My kayaks arrived and I can’t tell you how thrilled my daughter Makenna is with her new purple Shooting Star… she can’t wait to go on the water with it but wants to wait for the water to get just a bit warmer. Then off to Level Six Capital Cup which was a great time and good weather… one thing to note that at the 2 comps I’ve been to this year, EVERY junior paddler has competed in a Jackson kayak! This month, I’ve been up at Wilderness Tours, where I’m the Director at Ottawa Kayak School… preparing for a great summer! Of course, I’ve been out surfing Buseater and some large waves we’ve discovered! I attached some skook photos… So thanks again for the kayaks and I hope to see you soon!
