We got soaked up here with areas of Maine getting 4+” of rain which brought in every run in the state!

We spent Monday and Tuesday, June 4th and 5th, on a classic central Maine stream called Marsh Stream. It is class III/IV with a great hike or paddle down to an awesome set of play waves with OK eddy service.

Marsh Stream usually runs in the early spring (translation = COLD). It was nice to rip it up in the warmth and high water of June. The tropical deluge of rain brought the stream to ideal levels for river running and freestyle.

This gem is 30 minutes from my house and I first started paddling there in the mid 1990’s. It is super conducive to retentive cartwheels and blunts, and just all around fun!

Zack, Mike D., Mike M. and I saw some eagles, ospreys, and a huge rainbow on Tuesday evening. I can’t wait for more rain and days off so we can head back for more action!
