Youth Programming with Jackson Kayaks by Will Richardson | Apr 12, 2007 | 2010 Fun, Rockers, Whitewater | 0 comments April 11, 2007 I’m the new Program Director for California Canoe & Kayak in Sacramento and I am also the Jackson Ambassador for the area. I just wanted to drop a quick note about the Youth Kayaking camp I finished up last week for the City of Folsom. We had 20 kids total for a four day camp over Spring Break – we only had the kids for an hour and a half each day since they were also doing some scuba diving and springboard diving in the afternoons. I can’t tell you how nice it was to have a full range of Jackson boats to use with the kids. The ages ranged from 7 years old up to 13 – we were using Fun 1’s for the little guys and worked our way on up with Fun 1.5’s, 2Funs and some Fun’s for the larger kids or just those who wanted more stability. We ended up putting one of the kids in the Punk Rocker and soon everyone wanted to try it out. Aside from giving the kids a great experience with a boat that fit them, us instructors really appreciated the light weight when we were hauling around and emptying dozens of boats every day – the kids seemed to like tipping the boats as much as paddling them. Thanks for making such a great product in a wide range for the kids. Bryant Burkhardt Program Director California Canoe & Kayak Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
