Men’s went off with the top 20 paddlers in the world, quite a few world champs (EJ, Nick, Dane, Pringle) along side many who aim at that next top podium.  The heats were litteraly stacked!  This day it was more about who took the biggest risk, who went for the more technical ride and who was smarter, leaving riskier moves to the end of the 45 second.  The technical guys tended to slowly work up to the bigger moves, while those who wanted to go balls to the wall tended to head for the skies with some of the biggest ends and air of the weekend so far.

Early on the Euro contingent lead the way with Csonka having two great rides including some of the best linked flurries we’ve seen… there’s a reason he’s still around and up at the top 3 every time he paddles on the international scale!  The Catalonian,Joaquim Fontane did very well representin’ with a leading score early on with upstart Adam Chappel, newly crowned Canadian Champ with stellar rides as well for the first two heats.  Then came the really stacked heat.  Get this:  EJ, Nick, Dane, Stephen W in one heat!  After the dust settled, Troutman of Canada again came away with the glory of the best score.

A cool 123 for the new 2013 Allstar!
