Men’s Quarter Finals Results – World Cup 2012 (Rock Island) by jacksonkayak | Aug 25, 2012 | Uncategorized | 0 comments The top men’s freestyle kayakers in the world converged onto the Rock Island wave and aimed for the stars. The heats were stocked with the best names and the action was of great international flavor with Peter Czonka from Czech, Nick Troutman and Adam Chapel from Canada and a host of Americans with the Jacksons, Wrights, Kirks and more aimed at taking the top 10 spots to make it to the semi finals tomorrow. The first heat showed us all that the men were open for business with Csonka riding well with Martin Koll and Joakim Fontane from Catalonia riding very well. Stephen Wright showed the most amplitude and racked up his traditional technical score. The loops were plentiful but those with the more technical moves tended to top the charts. The last heat was stocked to the gills with superstars, Nick Troutman, Eric Jackson, Dane Jackson and Stephen Wright and Brian Kirk. For the second day in a row, Nick Troutman came through with a score of 1169 (combined top two of three rides), with Dane Jackson in second, Csonka in third, Adam Chappel in fourth and Stephen Wright in 5th. The top ten go on to semis! Allstars all filling up the top 3… 5 of them in the top 10.
