Hardcore kayak Anglers Club Event #3 by Steve Gibson | Sep 19, 2012 | Cuda, Fishing, Fishing Tournament, Fly Fishing, jacksonkayak.com, Saltwater, Saltwater Fishing, Team JK, Tournaments | 3 comments On Saturday Sept 15, the hckaclub.com held their 3rd kayak fishing tournament of season. The event was held out of Economy Tackle/Dolphin Dive in Sarasota Florida. Over 30 anglers showed up to fish the event. The fishing was excellent. I caught 4 Slams before 9 am. My good friends that were fishing along side of me slammed 4 times as well. For those that aren’t familiar, a west coast slam (Florida) consists of catching a Snook,Redfish and a Speckled Sea Trout. This is the goal for most anglers in my region. Although we caught many good fish we fell short to winning the event. Good times! And congrats to the winners. 3 Comments Lupon Avery on January 21, 2013 at 1:47 pm We’ve been using a Perception Jocassee 16-1/2′ tandem that we modified for fishing around Boca Grande for a dozen years. Still in great shape. Just wondering if swithcing to a Giant Tuna is a good move. Reply Emily Jackson on March 6, 2013 at 3:33 pm Everyone that has a big tuna, loves them. We certainly love the comfort of the boat combined with the performance… If you haven’t sat in one be sure to try one out at your local dealer! Super stable kayak and paddles very well for such a large kayak Reply Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
