Wanted to share our Holiday Huckfestivities with the gang!

We are in the process of filming for the next "LiquidInsanity" video and spent most of the Thanksgiving Holiday on the water with my husband, what more could I be thankful for?

Thanksgiving Day – we rallied some friends and hit Bridal Veil Falls. This waterfall is one of many in the Columbia Gorge and one in which I have been eyeing for many years. It is a 40 foot vertical slide with rooster tails to avoid the entire way down. The scariest part about this drop was the seal launch below an 80 foot waterfall and into a shallow, boily pool. I was amazed at how quickly the Rocker resurfaced after seal launching in. The Rocker also resurfaced quickly after landing this 40 foot vertical slide and allowed me to make the next move in a timely manner to avoid being pushed up against the river left wall. We all had great lines and celebrated them with wine and turkey afterwards.

Friday, we met some friends to run Lacamas Creek. This creek has only two significant rapids on it. The first one is a waterfall that you run middle with a good boof to avoid the shallow landing. The next rapid is the one we came for. This rapid is an 80 foot slide! There are two must make moves to this slide. The line I choose, I needed to boof some boils, punch a pretty big hole and stay on line to hit the right spot on the lower slide so that I didn’t hit rocks or logs. All this had to happen at pretty much the same time. The Rocker performed with precision and I nailed my line. I was much more nervous running this drop than Tomata Falls in Mexico!!!

Saturday, we hit Hagen Gorge. This section of river was run last spring for the first time. We could have used a little bit more water, but it was still a super fun time. Tons of 4 foot boofs, 4 bigger rapids and 11 people in our group – Awesome!
