Adventure Fishing World Championship by Alan L Ryland | Mar 8, 2013 | Cuda, Fishing, Fishing Tournament, Saltwater, Saltwater Fishing | 3 comments The Adventure Fishing World Championship held on March 2 in Everglades City, FL was exactly what the name implies – an adventure !! The 32 teams entered were required to catch either one redfish, trout, or snook at at least 3 of 5 checkpoints. The checkpoints were at unknown locations to all anglers until the start of the tournament that morning by means of a sealed map. Anglers had to strategically decide which checkpoints to fish and find them, pick up a colored token, catch one of the required fish, return the token to the checkpoint, then move on to the next. My team mate and I paddled over 30+ miles in two days between pre-fishing and the tourney itself. Along with this we battled 15-20 mph winds. BRUTAL would be a good word to describe this event but fun none the less. My Jackson Cuda 14 was my boat of choice and it performed amazingly in these conditions. The Cuda provide a safe and comfortable platform through all conditions through the entire event. For anyone wondering my team mate and I place 9th overall 🙂 Tight lines !!
