EJ’s Ricochet is almost finished, then Emily and Dane, three to Japan, one to Colin… by Will Richardson | Dec 10, 2005 | Whitewater | 0 comments December 10, 2005 I wanted a natural carbon boat, so I can see all of the carbon layers, how good of a job Larry did on running the weave the right direction, etc. From the first photos of this ½ build Ricochet, it looks awesome! You are looking at about 15 pounds of carbon lightning right here. The walls and wall supports are in (check out how we have a layer of carbon over the walls and vertically bridging the deck and hull). Notice that the carbon weave is on a 45 degree angle everywhere, increasing strength dramatically on the longitudinal line, effectively doubling the material for the same weight. I expect that the cockpit rim and seat will go in on Monday and we will have a finished boat in no time! I just ordered the Jackson Kayak stickers to go on it and the Ricochet stickers are already done. Emily is getting a pink Ricochet and Dane is getting an orange one (I think). What color will yours be? It is super fun to paddle a lightweight boat on the water. EJ Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
