High Water North Fork Payette- Wild & Free Tour by nicktroutman | Apr 15, 2017 | Media, rivers, Trip Reports, Trips, Video, Whitewater | 0 comments Our first stop on our Wild & Free tour was Boise, ID. We had originally planned to just spend the night and keep moving west until we realized how epic the whitewater was. The next day I found myself driving up to the North Fork Payette with Alec Voorhees, and crew. The drive up got a bit nerve racking as we snow massive amounts of snow pack, little to no option for scouting, and a lot of nervous laughter and jokes. Once on the water we realized we were in it. The water was freezing, the river banks were covered in snow and ice, and the rapids were massive. I was thrilled to get to experience the raw power of the North Fork Payette at 4000 CFS. Check out the video for yourself and see what the spring melt in Idaho looks like. Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
