Jackson Cuda – Scupper Transducer Bracket fabrication Mounting and Wiring for Fishfinder install by Matthew Trucks | May 12, 2012 | Cuda, Fishing, jacksonkayak.com, Rigging, Saltwater Fishing, Team JK | 10 comments Here is my how to for the Jackson Cuda Scupper Transducer bracket and install. I used the idea from here. http://www.scoutdoorsblog.com/2012/04/rig-cuda-garmin-150-install-part-1.html Needed 1 Lowrance X-4 Pro Fish finder with transom mount transducer 1 piece of 1/2″ wide Aluminum stock 1 screw with washer and nut Hardware that came with X-4 TH Marine Thru Cap for hull pass through deck wiring. 1 Tube of Marine Grade Silicone Scupper Transducer mount fabrication Cut aluminum stock for top of bracket (3″ Piece) Center Punch in center and Drill. Drill Hole in longer piece for transducer mounting. Measure the distance where the transducer hugs the hull inside the scupper to deck. Cuda Scupper Cuda Scupper from underside Add 3/4″ and cut. Drill hole for angle top mounting between 3″ plate and soon to be angled piece. Then bend the 3/4″ area in a vice. I painted mine to make it look nice. Transducer mounted to fabricated bracket Mount transducer in scupper. Transducer mounted! Pretty easy hope it doesnt come loose. Transducer mounted from underside Transducer installed flush in scupper Full shot of hull Then run the wiring thru the deck. Using the TH Marine Thru Cap and marine silicone to seal it. Warning: You dont need to apply much for a full seal. A bead around the top collar is more than enough. Thru Bulkhead wiring Transducer and wiring thru bulkhead Inside Yak bulkhead wiring I hope you enjoyed this and are able to follow for the same mounting style! After testing it is far better than the usual inside kayak hull install. I can read accurate water temps and the imaging is much clearer. Thanks for reading! Is there anything stabilizing it from moving or spinning? Reply Matt Trucks on July 29, 2013 at 6:00 pm Richard it actually creates sort of like a wedge. The scupper hole narrows as it goes in. I used those rubber bolt caps you can get at any hardware store and with the screw and washer on the top you tighten it till it is in place and wedged in where the transducer is mounted to the bracket. Reply Clay Wright on July 18, 2013 at 3:24 am Just forwarded to our tech guy – hope this helps! Reply Dave on November 2, 2013 at 3:27 am Where did you get the Cea cap?
