World Champion kayaker Eric “EJ” Jackson was recently inducted into
Children’s Museum of History, Natural History, Science and Technology
International Hall of Fame for Bicycling, Rowing, Kayaking and Canoeing.
Nominated by a committee that includes past honorees, Jackson was recognized
for the breadth and heights of his career including the following: Member of
the US Olympic Team, three World Freestyle Kayak Championship titles, US
National Freestyle Kayak Team member since 1989, author of instructional
books and videos, and founder of Jackson Kayak, the first manufacturer to
make performance whitewater boats for children, as well as a full line of
creek, freeride, downriver and slalom boats for adults.
The museum in Utica, NY, a hands-on educational center for kids and the
young at heart, displays inductee memorabilia including racing shirts,
framed pictures, gear and more.
