I have attended the first two
symposiums and won’t miss one. I recommend that you book your ticket
today! Here is a letter from instructional guru Kent Ford who has been
instrumental in making this symposium a success.

Whitewater Symposium Announces Location

The Whitewater Symposium is a three-day annual event
that seeks to advance the sport of whitewater kayaking through bringing
top paddlers, industry representatives, instructors and program leaders
together. Billed as “Taking Whitewater Kayaking to the Future”
this year’s event will be held in Glenwood Springs, Colorado the
weekend of October 8, 9, 10 (Sat, Sun, Mon)..

The focus is on generating new ideas to support the
continued health of the whitewater industry through building and maintaining
the quality of instruction and gear and promoting a positive media image
of the sport. The Symposium is a meeting of the minds that helps take
kayaking into the future. It’s a stimulating and exhilarating event
you don’t want to miss!

The Symposium provides an all-inclusive package of
dry land seminars, instruction, and roundtable discussions. It’s an opportunity
for clubs, paddling schools, university programs, retailers and manufacturers
to exchange ideas and focus on the long-term health of whitewater sport.
It’s an opportunity for paddlers and instructors to exchange ideas about
trends in instruction, equipment, and technique. It’s an event featuring
all aspects of the whitewater kayak spectrum including instruction, freestyle,
river running, racing, rescue and rodeo. Classroom and panel discussions
cover topics such as safety, access, conservation, boat design, sales
and marketing strategies, whitewater parks, program design for women and
kids, river stewardship and media portrayal of whitewater. Participants
can also choose to get their ACA Instructor update and CPR recertification
while in attendance. Check www.wwsymposium.com
for more information and registration.
