LA Copywriter/Kayaker talks about his new Super Fun by Will Richardson | Mar 28, 2005 | Whitewater | 0 comments March 28, 2005 Hi Eric, I think this is the second time I’m writing but I’m not sure. At the risk of sounding redundant, I just can’t express enough my gratitude to you for making the Super Fun. It’s just such an incredible boat and at 6’2, 210 lbs, incredibly comfortable. When I met you in Sierra South on the Kern last year just before the release of the Super Fun you pitched me on what then seemed like a boat only available in my dreams. Having paddled for the last 7 years, mostly in my whiplash, I’d certainly hit a plateau. Skeptical that any boat could really do all the things you were claiming the fun series could do but really impressed with you as a person, I went with my gut and rolled the dice and ordered a Super Fun without ever paddling it. What this boat has done for my paddling is immeasurable. I believe I’m paddling better today (Living in LA I only get a very limited number of days on the river) than I’ve ever paddled in my life, this includes the 3 years I lived in Jackson Wy, and paddled 60 days a year. The only thing I can liken this boat design to is the introduction of shaped skis. You’ve done an incredible job in your design. I commend you on being such an expert at your craft. Today I ran the class V Upper Piru strech just north of LA. I ripped it. And as I told my boating partner, it’s not me, it’s the boat. The boat creeks, handles big water and plays like a dream. Honestly, I can’t thank you enough for reinvigorating my interest in kayaking. Keep up the good work. I can’t imagine how you’ll top this. Best, Adam Schwartz Los Angeles, CA PS not to mention how fun it is in the ocean. Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
