Here is the letter he sent:

Dear Jackson Kayak,

Thank you for recommending Team JK paddler Clay
Wright to coach freestyle during the Huge Experiences WV spring break
camps. Huge Experiences seeks the best freestyle and river running coaches
in the world. Our list of previous coaches boasts four previous world
champions among a long list of medalists. Clay proved to be the highest
caliber of coach amongst this elite group.

Clay brought with him an assortment of Jackson Kayaks
including two All Stars, a Super Star, a Fun, and the newly designed Rocker.
He gladly outfitted students and offered these boats as demos. I observed
Clay’s strongest point to be his personal attention and detail with
each student. Our programs are small and focus on the individual needs
of the athlete. Clay and I met personally with each student to discuss
goals, abilities, and expectations of the week. Clay went beyond these
personal steps as he video taped students and later went over video of
both river running and freestyle techniques at night. Each week he provided
a safety clinic both on and off of the water. Additionally, he modeled
safety protocol and reinforced these practices daily.

Clay took the time to teach students how to read cyber
water gauges in order to predict flows daily. He also taught foamy boat
design and played with the students in nearby creeks. He was a natural
in this teaching environment.

I cannot think of one aspect of kayaking that he neglected.
From this week I became further inspired for our sport and it’s
leaders. Congratulations on having the best of representatives represent
JK.

Best,

David Hughes
