Another "Fun" weekend. Spartanburg County
Parks and Recreation, South Carolina put on the 6th annual Tame the Tyger
River Race and Float.
More info
:

If you missed it this year, please think about it
next year. The course is about 7 miles long, lot of flat water and with
this year’s water level, 8 to 10 class II+ rapids. I think 119 people
participated and the weather was super. The food and music at the take-out
was worth the paddle. Looked like everyone had a good time.

Brad did great and picked his paddling up a notch.
I’d consider this an open event, so you see about anything that floats.
The two big rules are have a helmet and a PFD, from there its open season.
They do have safety boaters at all the rapids and the carnage was endless.
Little Mann stayed in his boat and got a boost in confidence on something
a little harder than the Lower Green River. He received a lot of attention
for being the youngest "12 year old" in the even – since he’s
only 7. Wink, wink, nod, nod – I’m working on getting the rules modified.
Also, for doing a great job reading the river and running each rapid well.
Take care.

Milton Mann
