USA slalom trials, day 2 by Will Richardson | Jun 12, 2005 | Whitewater | 0 comments June 12, 2005 Photos Well, today the best showed that they are the best in the men’s class. Scotty Parsons and Scott Mann took one and two again, switching leads today though. Both of them are now on the USA Team, congratulations! Brett Hyle finished third again, almost locking in that position, but he’ll have to race tomorrow too to secure it for sure. I got 8th place again, (7th of the Americans). I am happy with my performance since I haven’t trained in 7 years for slalom. I am paying attention to how people are racing and how I am doing so I can prepare for next year’s trials with the goal of making the team and teaching the kids to race as well. The other guys have a way better feel for their boat and are able to make minor adjustments in their line to keep the boat flying along. I am getting stalled from time to time losing chunks of time that add up to about 5-10 seconds on a run depending on the run. I have not hit a gate yet, however, and that is encouraging. I may be one of the few people in the race so far that hasn’t hit a gate. In the women’s class Rebecca Giddens won both days. Got to go to bed! One more day of racing tomorrow! 🙂 EJ Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
