9 years old, exploring the drops of South Dakota, and having
a
run in with the law!

September 13, 2005

Check out the latest from Team JK’s 9 year old Lauren.

Dear Eric,

My Mom and Dad and I were passing through South Dakota
and we found some whitewater at Big Sioux River at Sioux Falls Park in
South Dakota from AW website. My Dad & I did the only right thing
to do. He scouted the drops and I got dressed and grabbed our stuff. We
did a few drops and it was alot of fun. The park is very cool with alot
of rock formations and walk ways and people everywhere. The drops were
alot of fun and I really liked the slide we did. We were done running
all the fun parts and then we heard alot of sirens, 3 firetrucks, an ambulance
and 4 police cars showed up. We thought someone was hurt but quickly realized
it was all for us after we were asked to get out of our boats and come
up to the grass. The police officers and fireman had to check to read
the City Ordinance to see if it said anything about no boats. Dad had
already checked the city ordinance and looked everywhere for signs showing
no boats but there weren’t any. They said we didn’t violate any laws that
they could tell and that it was just that someone from a cell phone watching
us had called them. We were told if we wanted to run it we would need
to get out above the Falls and stay out of the park area. We had alot
of fun.

BAD BOYS! BAD BOYS! WHACHA GONNA DO WHACHA GONNA DO
WHEN THEY COME FOR YOU.

Lauren Burress 🙂
