Finally you can use your kayak to stay in shape at
home! Be ready for your next trip on the water. Get buff at home, with
this complete workout gym, that starts with your own kayak! Tighten up
your torso area, strengthen your arms, back, chest, even your legs, in
the same way you do when you are kayaking! Kayaking is something that
is more fun when we feel like we are physically ready for it. While we
don’t have to have the body of a Venus or Atlas to enjoy it, having
our muscles in shape for the rigors of forward strokes, sweeps, braces,
rolls, backstrokes, etc. makes every outing more fun and safe.

How does it work?

  1. Let’s start with the best bench in the workout
world, your kayak! A typical top of the line all in one workout machine
has a press board bench, with cheap foam padding, and cheap vinyl cover.
It is usually flat, so you slip around and it doesn’t support
you well. The Paddle Station is the workout machine, with a base that
you put your kayak on. Your kayak has a great seat, hip pads, back band,
footbraces, and thigh braces to hold you securely in place while you
workout. This allows you to get a great core body workout, while doing
your upper body workout. Instead of lying on your back while doing the
bench press, for example, you are sitting up and using your stomach
muscles to hold your body in place while pressing.
  2. There is also an air bladder that goes under the
center of the Paddle Station, that allows you to hold your balance,
while working out, improving coordination and core muscle strength.
You can even do “lean cleans” a whitewater playboating exercise
which combines balance, strength and specific skill development.
  3. An incline stand allows you to either incline or
decline the Paddle Station while you workout. This helps you work either
your abs or your lower back. It even allows you to use your kayak as
a sit up and lower back raise machine! The best part of doing your ab
work in your kayak is that you don’t get that pesky lower back
pain like in normal situps or crunches. The backband acts as a lumbar
support and it makes your ab workout way more comfortable.
  4. There are four bungees and four handles. Each on
is attached to an adjustment rope that you adjust on a sailing cleat.
This makes it possible to adjust the amount of tension without getting
out of your kayak. Whether you are focusing on raw power, muscle endurance,
rehab of a shoulder injury, or cardio workout, you can set the tension
    quickly.
  5. Paddle attachment- For a realistic paddle position,
or serious torso rotation muscle work, you can even attach your own
    paddle to the bungees.
