Low Water Green Photos! by Will Richardson | Nov 3, 2005 | Whitewater | 0 comments November 3, 2005 Photos With no water in the Green, Clay and I decided to hike in and check out the narrows with no release water. The hike-in is long and steep, but it was definitely good to see the rocks that form such awesome rapids! We hiked upstream from Sunshine to Boof or Consequence. Sunshine was very impressive–the left line looked terrifying, Rapid Transit was impressive with the cave going all the way through on the left. It’s cool to see that the Launch pad off Gorilla is really a huge chockstone, and there’s more junk in the landing pool than I expected. The Notch is WAY undercut on the right and Pencil Sharpener has a lot of junk rocks throughout. Next up was Chief, which landed on a rock that looked exactly like I hoped it WOULDN’T. After Backender, we saw Go Left…it wasn’t pretty. The rock in the middle jutted WAY up and we were really disturbed to see a log bridging the left channel deep. This could definitely ruin someone’s day, so we pulled it out. This was definitely an interesting day, and I learned a lot. I’m psyched for practice water tommorow (I need it!), and then the big race on Saturday!!! Live from Asheville, Stephen Wright Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
