Cold day on the Telli-snow by Will Richardson | Feb 19, 2006 | Whitewater | 0 comments By Clay Wright Learn more about Clay here February 7, 2006 So the storm is going and the Jackson Kayak crew is all at the bar talking boating and make plans to head out early AM – whatever’s running. No rain, snow on the way, but we said we would go and so . . . we did! Drove through a blizzard on hwy 70 and considered turning around in Crossville, TN but the roads got better and so did our hangovers. Put on with about 20 other tough-men and women for 2 laps on the Tellico’s waterfalls, slides and boofs. The rocks below Baby were glazed over from sleet, and I only got a few shots off before my hands (and skirt, pogies, and drytop) froze up. Luckily Tom Hehnen took the 2nd run off to shoot more. Hope to have more shots up soon – even a really cold day on the Tellico reminds you how fun it is to kayak and how lucky we are to have road-side wild places like that within range for a day-trip. Clay 10AM on Hwy 68 near Spring City – brr! John Dean, Goat, and Brad – dressed for battle Tommy Hehnen is smiling despite a blown neck gasket – brr! John Dean – Doing a little inventory of Baby Falls down the middle. Boof? Check. Brad boof by Clay Dane Jackson, 3rd run of Baby out of 8. Its like a lift line: Dane heads in while Brad, Goat, Clay, John, and Jacob wait for the next chair.
