Jackson Kayak components help TN Tech student Dewayne Steward win NASA safety award that hasn’t been given out in three years! by Will Richardson | Apr 19, 2006 | Whitewater | 0 comments April 19, 2006 With the help of Jackson Kayak seats, TTU won the System Safety Award at the Moonbuggy competition on April 8th, 2006 at the Marshall Space Center in Huntsville, Alabama. As stated by NASA officials, the award has been available for the past three years, but our vehicle was the first to be worthy of the award. They loved the seat configuration. We beat 22 other engineering schools for this award. We finished 8th overall in the race competition, and sucessfully completed both runs whereas 7 teams had mechanical failure and were not able to complete a run. http://www.nasa.gov/centers/marshall/news/news/releases/2006/06-047.html If my advisor caught a good action shot of our buggy, I will send it to you as soon as I receive it. Thank You, Dewayne Steward Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
